“Armed with a fine selection of catchy acoustic gems and beautiful soulful pop songs... with evident influences ranging from 1960's retro-pop to The Coral, all fused with top-drawer musicianship throughout.” Paul Richards in The Hunts Post – live review.
"We played T.V. for Sleepers last week...I love this song!"
Kerry Devine, BBC Introducing (BBC Radio Cambridgeshire).
Close harmonies embedded in a folk-rock scape reminiscent of Simon and Garfunkel, Fairport Convention and Fleetwood Mac, Fred's House, Vikki- Vox, Griff- Vox and Acoustic guitar, Gafyn- BV's and Bass, Lachy- Lead Guitar and Alan- Drums also mix acoustic and electric guitars, a strong rhythm section and bags of harmonies.
Recently they have been heard on BBC Radio Cambridgeshire with Mark Rumble, BBC Radio Wales on Adam Walton's show, 105 Cambridge Radio, Big City Radio (Birmingham) and have just been on BBC Introducing with Kerry Devine (BBC Radio Cambridgeshire) performing a live session. Fred's House have also supported some established artists including Leah Mason (Geffen) Wallis Bird (Columbia Records) and the Whybirds.
Fred's House formed only in February of 2010, when The Wentways, Gafyn, Lachlan and Alan, lost their singer due to 'artistic differences'. Griff (Gafyn's Brother) and Vikki were recording a few of their songs with producer NoisyFred and asked Gafyn if he would like to play bass for their recordings, to which he replied, 'I'll bring the whole band!' So it was at Fred's House where they spent the weekend in the studio. The band hit it off and played their first gig together a week later in the Big Smoke, although they are ashamed to admit that most of the songs in the set were learnt by sending mp3's via email and rehearsed for the first time during the sound check, seat of your pants stylee!
As for 2011, Fred's House are excited to be confirmed for three other Festivals so far this year, Fringe in the Fen Festival - Fenstanton, The International Pop Overthrow Festival - at the famous Cavern Club in Liverpool and one a little closer to home but we have to keep our lips buttoned for now... Fred’s House are delighted to be playing Spring Fest in 2011!
Fred's House are self-releasing their debut E.P. “Fred’s House” on 7th May 2011 and they have lined up their own mini tour to launch the E.P. at venues such as The Wales Millennium Centre, Cardiff. To find out more about Fred’s House, go to www.fredshousemusic.co.uk or www.myspace.com/infredshouse.
