Bursting onto the scene with her lead role in Dodi Fayed’s movie “Breaking Glass” in 1980, Hazel soon became a huge star as well as a BAFTA nominated actress. She was the first female to star in a hit film and also write and perform its soundtrack. The album hit the top 5 and spawned four hit singles.

Hazel took to the road with a stage show about her amazing life story – Beyond Breaking Glass, played a three night stand at the 2002 Glastonbury Festival, all over Europe and a 2003 tour of Australia. The impossibility of performing classic new wave songs accompanied only by the celebrated Irish harp player – Cormac De Barra, took Edinburgh by storm in 1998 and has been wooing audiences ever since. So much so, that 2000 saw the first run of Beyond The Breaking Glass – the album that grew out of the show.

The Subterraneans were formed in 1998 by guitarist Mark Roberts (who appeared on the Chris Evans Radio 1 Breakfast Show and TFI Friday) when he was joined by guitarist Anthony Harty (Style Council bass player, guitar on the Grammy award winning album Jamaican E.T. by Lee "Scratch" Perry. Tony Dangerfield (fronted the Wonderland and worked with Ocean Colour Scene), bass guitarist Kevin Lomas (another Wonderlander, also performed with Roy Wood, the 2Tone Collective and Jeff Turton of the Rocking Berries) and drummer Steve Tombs has worked with all the others at some stage. Billy Davidson played saxophone in various bands including Skaboom, Kingsize, Laurel Aitken, Iguana Brothers (finalists for Musicians o the Year), touring the UK, Ireland and Europe.
