Highway5 has evolved from a meeting between Andy and Richard in November 2004. The band started rehearsing and formulating their set, New Years Eve Richard received a phone call from his brother (the infamous Sumo) asking if the band wanted to gig at a tsunami appeal day at Leigh-On -Sea Essex supporting LimeHouse Lizzy,On 30th Jan. Having to think on his feet Richard had to come up with a quick name so Raunch”N” Blues came into being. The band gigged early in the year and decided on a name change in June to Highway5
