There aren't many performers who can boast the ability to silence an otherwise noisy crowd within minutes of beginning their set! ... Odette's music is a carefully crafted blend of soulful narrative set against a backdrop of folk/pop rhythms.
After exchanging the Piano for the Guitar at the age of 15, she began writing and recording her own songs when she was sixteen years old. Continuing her study of music at the Nottingham Trent University, Odette went on to receive her B.A in Contemporary Music in 1998.
After graduating, Odette took off for the beautiful west coast of Canada with little more than a small backpack and a spirit of adventure. With her last remaining $30 she purchased a guitar and a bicycle, and made a new home for herself in Vancouver. Here where she joined forces with established Canadian band Barbarash, and with them she sung at some of the most well known clubs and venues across the city of Vancouver throughout the summer of 1999.
In the years since she has played solo as well as with various bands up and down the UK, including the Internatonally acclaimed Cambridge Folk Festival Club stage, where she has performed for three years consecutively.
These days however, Odette can be found performing as much as possible in acoustic venues accompanied by her great new band, consisting of Andy Sutherland on violin, and Lee Robson on bass.
"...Here is a serious talent with a stunning new take on the acoustic tradition. Odette's voice is capable of demonstrating the finer points of both folk and rock with genuine craftmanship." RealCity Magazine
"Odette has a voice to die for and her harmonies with Megan (Lumina) are the stuff of summer afternoons scoffing ice cream in a punt" Adhoc Magazine
