Music in the Park Ipswich 4th July 2004
We are a 6 piece semi-pro outfit based in Colchester, Essex. We have gained a cult status that is usually reserved for signed bands. We play original songs,
no covers and use a banjo, electric fiddle, mandolins,
guitars and drums to mesmerize our audiences.
We comfortably piss all over tribute and cover bands.
We play angry, tuneful music. Formerly known as the Saltydogs, we have been together for over 10 years
with few line up changes. In this time we have played
at Glastonbury, opened for the Levellers and gigged most small London venues such as the: Mean Fiddler, Dublin Castle, Hope & Anchor etc. Saltdog are big in North Essex and South Suffolk.
At our shows we make people dance, get
crowds going and get the beer sales up! We are a
damn good live act, excellent entertainment and we
don't disappoint! Gaining a following that has enabled
us to continue to create our unique musical style.
The response that we receive at gigs is testament
to the high energy song writing, managing to turn any audience into a frenzy.
Saltdog's appeal is that we connect with the audience. Making people feel part of the gig is what makes them come back for more, and they do.
We have headlined most festivals in the Essex / Suffolk area. We have performed at Magna Carta, headlined Chopper Club runs, Arse in the Grass and Condom Rally's. We played the penultimate slot at the
Strawberry Fair 2003, (the bloke that booked us
wished we had topped the bill). Every promoter that books Saltdog, is either glad that we did, or wishes
that we had topped the bill. We pull the largest crowd
at "Music in the park" Ipswich. When we play support slots, main acts quake in their boots.
We are a hard act to follow.
We are that good.
This is not bullshit.
Saltdog are the dog's bollocks!
