Smokin’ Hogs play rocky and punchy Rhythm and Blues with a distinctive sound which has its roots in the late 60’s and early 70’s British Rock & Blues era but is still very relevant today.
They are an exciting and authentic live act and like to generate energy on stage with an electric and visual stage show.
In 2010 the band are already booked to appear at the Upton Blues Festival, the Burnley National Blues Festival, the Broadstairs Blues Bash, the Cambridge Rock Festival and the Harvest Time Blues Festival along with various blues clubs throughout the country.
The Hogs have also just released a new album, "Bite The Bullet" which is already receiving good reviews and airplay on BBC Radio.
Reviews
"Friday night's theme was high energy R&B and the Smokin' Hogs got proceedings off to a rocking start. A four piece punchy outfit from East Anglia, with a leaning towards the sound of the 60's Blues boom, they performed some particularly good self penned songs from bassist Steve Soer and frontman Paul Sutton, with some excellent guitar work from Mark Kennedy. They set the mood perfectly for the following double header" Review from Blues Matters November 2009.
Smokin Hogs were easily up with Dr Feelgood & Nine Below Zero" Review from Linton Music Festival 2009.
