About the stages

​

Everything you will see was filmed live at the Cambridge Rock Festival. Watch a HD sample here:

As with all recent CRF's, there will be two stages... but they'll be virtual, and serve different purposes!

​

Amber - featuring high definition (full HD, 1920x1080 pixel) video. Virtually all is fan-shot with good quality cameras!

Topaz - different sets, mostly in DVD quality 4:3 ratio from the 'pro' cameras used for the side screens at CRF12-16.

There is approximately a ten minute changeover between each set. Just like the real thing, we have to connect the set to the website, i.e. 'put the band on the stage'! And just like the real thing, they'll only be playing while they're there. And also just like the real thing, you can buy their merchandise afterwards - and please do - albeit from their websites.

 

Important: If you have low connectivity or experience difficulties running the Amber stage, there will be a lower definition version using typically less than half of the bandwidth (amount of data you need to download) so should work better. If you're displaying on a phone or small screen, this should be adequate anyway. If you have fibre and a big TV, full HD will be magnificent!

If you have very poor connectivity (e.g. 1mb/s) there will be 360p versions of all of the sets that should work, however they will inevitably have a reduced quality level.

Also important: please don't leave it running if you stop watching. It might affect other users!

​

And another thing: We strongly recommend watching on a big screen, or at least a TV. 12 hours a day is a long time on a phone! But if you use a phone, please be aware that most phone speakers seem only to output on one channel! Who knew??? Why??? But we've discovered that's what happens. Headphones seem to work, and the headphone socket to stereo speakers should. But you may only hear one side if the video (specifically on the Topaz stage) was mixed with instruments on different sides!
